Levine Overcomes Controversial Call!
Down 1-0 in the 2nd inning captain Matty Levine came up with 2 outs and a runner on first and hit a rocket down the 3rd base line which was called foul.
Matty didn’t like the call at all and argued briefly before conceding and hitting the next pitch far over the shipping container in left to give the Moonshots a 2-1 lead.
Matty then took the mound and preserved the win with some tough pitching with runners on base for a much needed win by the Moonshots.
LaCroix Loses Command!
Entering the last inning with a 5-1 lead Kenny “KJ” LaCroix inexplicably lost control and walked the bases loaded to start the inning.
A Newitt single and another free pass to Danny Eggs allowed Tanic a 4th plate appearance.
With the bags still loaded, KJ came after Tanic with his best stuff, but that was always going to be trouble as Tanic was in the zone on this night (12 for 12 on base) and was able to fight off a hard sinker away and serve the ball off the high wall in left for a triple and a 6-5 lead and win.
Phillips Achieves Perfection!
The Shockers were 0-3 on the night and hadn’t scored a run yet on the evening. Phillips took matters into his own hands and threw the leagues 2nd perfect game.
He also added a 2 run triple with 2 outs in the top of the 3rd to give them a 3-0 lead. The shockers would go on to win 4-0 to even their record off at 9-9.
Weber and Petrovsky Lead off Homers!
After taking a pitch and fouling one straight back, Shane Weber leads off the game for the Ball Busters with a high liner over the left field wall.
